Fake Facebook Life: Conman Who Displayed Fake Life on Facebook Busted

On social media,  people represent themselves however they choose. Some people take it to the extreme though portraying lavish lifestyles that that are opposite of their real lives. Do you have friends who have the "perfect" life on Facebook and are so bubbly but when you are in their city and ask to visit they suddenly disappear? Yes that is a sign of FAKERY!

Daily Mail just dished about Daniel Burgoyne (pictured above) who flaunted a fake life on Facebook and conned people out of thousands of pound. Summary of the story is as follows: 

  • Daniel Burgoyne, 24, posted pictures of luxury lifestyle on Facebook 
  • He conned 18 people over phone who thought they were investing £75,000 
  • But he spent £56,000 of it, living high life with cigars and Champagne 
  • Despite boasts, he lived with his mother and ran office on business park 
  • Ex-trainee butcher compared himself to character from Wolf of Wall Street 
  •  'Sophisticated' con saw him jailed for 2 years at Canterbury Crown Court
