Photographer captures The 'Rainbow Girls' - the lesbian community of South Africa

Photographer Julia Gunther's was on a mission when she captured photos of South African women who have faced oppression, discrimination and isolation because they are lesbians. Most of them have been ostracized by their families and have been victims of rape and battery. In an email to The Huffington Post, she writes: "The only difference between Apartheid and now, is that blacks are suppressing blacks." See some of the photos she captured below.
