Yes you read that right. For $24.99 a month, the Invisible Boyfriend app id designed to create a name, age, and personality profile for your unreal partner. The app also includes a photo and bogus back story of how you two met. Every month you’ll get 100 texts, 10 voicemails; and even a handwritten postcard. They also have one for girlfriends by the way.
Co-founder Matt Homann, said he started this app when he got tired of feeling pressured by his mom to be in a relationship. Homann said, “The service creates a safe space for you to practice texting with a real human if you’re out of practice. Sometimes it even inspires just enough jealousy to jolt that special person into committing.”
Will people really pay for this? There is really an app for everything!
