Hayley Haynes was genetically born a man because she had no reproductive organs due to a disorder called androgen insensitivity syndrome. She was told she would never become a mother but has given birth to twin girls.
In 2007 a new specialist discovered that she indeed had a tiny womb that was missed on previous scans. With the help of IVF and an egg donor, Hayley was able to get implanted, carry her twins and give birth successfully. It cost Hayley and her husband £10,500 which was half their life savings to pay for IVF treatments and other expenses but they are happy because it was all worth it.
