Happy hump day. The week is almost over so take a deep breath, picture your weekend and hang in there!
I just finished a grueling Bob Harper Pure Burn Strength workout and my body is so sore(see a clip after the cut). For those of you who are new to working out or starting out on a healthy life style journey, I have one word for you -LIFT! When people especially ladies hear weightlifting they immediately picture incredible hulk. I am here to tell you; you will not look like the hulk just because you lift. I have been incorporating weight training into my regimen for almost 2 years now and I tell you despite eating "not so clean" sometimes, it has really helped me with my maintenance. If you are intimidated by weights, you can do moves using just your body weight such as squats, lunges, push ups and planks.
Strength training helps to keep your heart healthy and reduces the risk of diseases such as diabetes. Aside from the health benefits, adding strength training to your program a couple of days a week keeps your body toned and improves your body composition. Lifting weight also helps to boost your metabolism which can lead to weight loss and maintenance. See quick fact sheet about strength training here. For beginners, you can search the Fitness Blender channel on YouTube for beginners routines.Body weight moves |
Have a fabulous rest of the day lovelies!
