Chinese parents lock up daughter in shed for six years to keep her from a boy!

Some parents will go to any lengths to keep their daughter away from an unfit boyfriend.

For the Chinese parents of 24-year-old Zhang Qi, who live in the Chinese village of Jingang, that meant keeping the young woman locked up in a dilapidated, abandoned storage shed for six years.

Qi has allegedly been held captive since being forced to break up with her boyfriend in 2009. The conditions of her residence are unfit at best, as you can see from the picture taken by a former neighbor, 50-year-old Chow Jen, who tried to avoid the conflict because Qi’s folks are “powerful people.” 

 The parents reportedly told neighbors that Zhang Qi was mentally unstable and they had to lock her up for her own good. Jen told reporters he was “happy to expose these pictures online after the local authorities refused to do anything.” So far, there’s no official comment on the case from local police.
